DESCRIPTION:Mondays January 23rd\, 30th\, February 6th & 13th 8:30pm to 9:30pm \nVisit our Registration page on our website www.yellowknifecurling.com to sign up! \nThe target audience for this course is ages 21+ who have curled less than 5 times in their life\, and not recently. \n**Anyone 20 years old and younger\, will need to join a junior program that runs each October to March. \nLearn to curl will cover: \n• the layout of the sheet and basic curling terminology \n• rules and etiquette \n• equipment and safety \n• throwing the rock (set up\, slide\, release) \n• sweeping \nWe have equipment for you to borrow while in the rink but you will need to bring/ wear: \n-Light jacket or sweater \n-Clean indoor rubber soled shoes that allow your ankles to bend such as running shoes \n-Gloves or mitts that are thinner and easy to hold a broom with \n-Pants that you can easily move in \n-Helmets are optional for adult curlers \n-Hat/ headband optional \nAfter the course\, if you would like to form a team for the next season you have a good chance of meeting some beginner curlers in the Learn to Curl course or if you sign up as a full member we can see if there is a team looking for an extra member. Curling teams need a minimum of 4 members but you can have as many on a team as you are comfortable with. Some teams have as many as 8 members to cover for each other when they are sick or away from town etc.
